Ulysses I. Velazquez O.D.

Ulysses I. Velazquez O.D., Eugene, Oregon Dr. Ulysses I. Velazquez was born in New York City, New York, and raised in Spokane, Washington. He graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho with a bachelor's degree in biology and emphasis in neuroscience. Following undergraduate studies, he attended the University of the Incarnate Word Rosenburg School of Optometry where he earned a doctorate in optometry. While there he also earned an award for clinical excellence and the Dr. Susan Behrens Memorial Scholarship, conferred to honor a student who possesses the core value of demonstrating generosity, compassion, and sympathy toward others.

Being of Puerto Rican and Mexican heritage, and having lived in Uruguay for two years, Dr. Velazquez is aware of the importance of being spoken to in your native language. One of his professional goals is to bring excellent and compassionate eye care to the Spanish-speaking community in Eugene.

Dr. Velazquez and his wife have lived in many states from Washington and Idaho to Texas and New York, but for them Oregon has always been home. They especially love the autumn season when they can be found outdoors enjoying the vibrant fall colors. Dr. Velazquez is also deeply dedicated to community service and looks forward to volunteering in his new hometown.

Dr. Ulysses I. Velazquez is certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry. He is also a member of the American Optometric Association. He is excited to provide comprehensive eye care for patients of all ages, from prescribing glasses and contact lenses to diagnosing and treating eye medical diseases.
