Dr. Baugnon is an Oregon native, raised in Eugene. He completed his undergraduate studies at George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with honors and a minor in Chemistry. He went on to earn his Medical Degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine in 2021, where he continued his training with a preliminary internship in Internal Medicine before completing Residency in Ophthalmology.

Dr. Baugnon's research interests include topics such as herpetic stromal keratitis and idiopathic intracranial hypertension. His work has been published in peer-reviewed journals, including the Journal of General Virology and Journal of Virology, and presented at national forums such as the ARVO and NANOS annual meetings. His research focuses on how cellular metabolic changes and immune system modulation impact the pathogenesis of various ophthalmologic conditions. He has also contributed to academic texts, co-authoring chapters on neurointervention in ophthalmologic disorders.

Dr. Baugnon is deeply committed to advancing ophthalmology through service and leadership. While at Saint Louis University, he served as Chief Resident in the Department of Ophthalmology, developed an "Ophthalmology for Non-Ophthalmologists" lecture series, and mentored medical students as a liaison for the department. Beyond the clinic and classroom, Dr. Baugnon is passionate about providing healthcare access to underserved communities. He has volunteered with the Saint Louis University Health Resources Center and worked alongside other eye surgeons with the Cure Blindness Project in Ghana.

As a comprehensive ophthalmologist, Dr. Baugnon has expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye disease, diabetic eye disease, and general eye health. He offers no-stitch cataract surgery, utilizing the latest technology to provide patients with superior visual outcomes. He works closely with each patient to develop the most appropriate treatment plan to optimize their vision after cataract surgery. For glaucoma patients, Dr. Baugnon offers a full spectrum of treatments, including medical management, laser therapy, and minimally invasive surgical options designed to reduce intraocular pressure and protect vision. He also specializes in the management of dry eye disease, diabetic eye disease, and general eye health, providing personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's needs. Dr. Baugnon is passionate about offering comprehensive eye care, from routine eye exams to advanced interventions, ensuring his patients receive the highest standard of care to maintain their eye health.

Returning to the Pacific Northwest in 2025, Dr. Baugnon is excited to bring his expertise to the patients of Eugene, Springfield, and the greater Lane County area. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors and exploring the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. An avid outdoorsman, he loves hiking, skiing, cycling, birding, and spending time with his wife and Tibetan Terrier, Hobi.
